Sign Description
Gemini is the third Sign. It has no exaltation, and its ruler is Mercury. As its ruler is Mercury, it represents neutrality, attention to detail, and curiosity, like a Sherlock Holmes observing physical reality.
Some rumors tend to attribute stronger sexuality to Gemini, but this could be due to the fact that they tend to see man and woman as a single entity, able to understand each other as if they were one. There is also certainly an influence from the Nakshatra of Rohini, which, during our era, is located within Gemini. Rohini has a particular mythological story, linked to creativity and sexuality.
Unlike the Greek description, Gemini is represented by a man and a woman intertwined, one holding a mace and the other a musical instrument. This illustrates construction and destruction.
It is often said that this Sign is bipolar, but in reality, each Sign represents a perfect symbolism of God and not a flaw. It is also the first Sign represented by a Human, and here by two Humans, further reinforcing this idea. Humans have the ability to conceive both creative and destructive ideas.
We can also link Mercury to Vishnu, who is the actor transforming and playing all the roles of the Avatars. Thus, we observe in some Gemini individuals this ability to take on different roles, to make people laugh, and to pass themselves off as someone else.
The fact that they are represented by two Humans strongly contrasts with the animal Signs, whose consciousness is more instinctive.
In Vedic Astrology, we distinguish four different forms of life:
- The Mineral, the least changing form of life,
- The Vegetable,
- The Animal,
- The Human, the most evolved form.
We can therefore expect, with Gemini, a much more human behavior, a curiosity that seems more pronounced in Humans than in Animals.
Gemini has often been attributed to scientists, research, and engineering, like Nikola Tesla, who had Mercury in Gemini in two very important places (D1 and D9). Moreover, Mercury was his Atmakaraka planet. He also had an exchange between his third house and his sixth, which made his life particularly difficult.
Finally, Gemini is the first Mutable Sign, a mix between Fixed (Taurus) and Cardinal (Aries), thus embodying transition and adaptability.
If we observe the display of the astrological chart according to the South of India, which is the most popular representation and highlights the Signs, we notice that the Mutable Signs seem, logically, to have a particular importance. This is because they form the base of this square.
According to the latest research by my professor Ernst Wilhelm, Pisces would actually be the first Sign linked to the named Gods Adityas, forming this basis of the square.

These four Signs therefore have a primordial importance in Astrology, and it is not surprising that we find them more often in people who have a significant influence on the world.
Through Gemini, we find the number 3, which is linked to Mars: it is the intellectual competition specific to this Sign. Gemini is a social and competitive Sign. Some famous war generals are indeed Gemini Ascendants.
Gemini individuals often possess many skills or marked intellectual talent, as well as an exceptional ability to learn quickly. This is particularly true if the Moon or Mercury is placed in this Sign, a little less so for the Sun, which seems to reveal a more warrior-like or noble side, the Sun being linked to Surya.
The ruler of Gemini being Mercury, if Mercury is well placed, this intellectual side is much stronger. On the other hand, a Mercury in Pisces will reduce intellectual abilities, making it more oriented towards the invisible, which is the domain of Jupiter and not Mercury.
Afflictions on the Sign of Gemini cause problems during the period from 4 to 12 years, which is the transition period from child to Adult. This period is important for understanding the basics of how society functions.
Mercury, being the planet of communication, plays a fundamental role in the ability to express oneself correctly. Almost everything in our world depends on communication.
One can therefore experience a difficult childhood if Gemini or Mercury is afflicted by Saturn or by a conjunction of Mars and Saturn within Gemini, for example.

Having the Moon in Gemini, I am a quite obvious example of Gemini
Idriss has a particular astrology because he has difficulty using Sagittarius, which makes his Gemini more apparent
In this video I also talk about Gemini, I use the term narcissistic here to shock a bit but it's not easy to approach this subject, sensitive souls abstain, narcissism has nothing to do with the Signs themselves but with the aspects of the planets, the yogas and the Avasthas
